It’s been a rough year for NASA, which has suffered from budget cuts, headcount reductions and leadership uncertainty.
For all that, at least the US agency still exists as an independent agency.
Its counterpart in the UK isn’t so fortunate: The Labour government stunned the British space industry last month with the news that it’s eliminating the UK Space Agency as a stand-alone office, making it instead a subsidiary of the science department.

We have to accept the UK doesn’t have the budget for any significant space endeavours. Low productivity and stagnant growth will ensure that’s always the case
I thought the UK Space Agency was basically just a regulatory body which cannot be compared to the likes of NASA.
