In der LOD-App-Definition spricht die Dame es eher wie „ja“ aus, aber in den beiden angegebenen Beispielen klingt es eher wie „jo“ mit einem klaren O-Laut.
Wenn ich normale Luxemburger das sagen höre, klingt es eher wie ein „Ja“.
Wann wird es wie „jo“ und wann wie „ja“ ausgesprochen? Kommt es auf den Dialekt oder die Situation an?

I think it’s just a personal preference, the contextual meaning doesn’t really change

To me: None of those examples is a (German) ‘ja’. The ‘o’ sounds different, yes, but it’s still ‘jo’ in both cases. M
As for when to use which: imho, it’s just whatever the speaker wants to use. (As long as it’s not an actual ‘A’ as in ‘ja’.)
Personally, I go with the LOD lady version.
