Comet tails grow as they get closer to the sun. This isn’t news, and is taught to children in school
At least it doesn’t cross Earth’s orbital path. Shades of Andromeda Strain 🙂
How is it known to be interstellar? could it just not be some far out comet with a weird orbital path?
