    1. I know a couple of people who are on welfare (for good reason, mind you) but are voting for Reform. They are literally going to vote for someone who hates them and is going to make their lives even more miserable. I don’t get it.

    2. Terrible_Ghost on

Honestly as a disabled person I am definitely worried about the next few years.

    3. Legitimate_Earth4371 on

Not a great idea when all his voters are the benefit brigade…

    4. Deltaforce1-17 on

Cut what welfare? 2.8 million in this country already use food banks.

    5. Nothing screams patriotism and loving your country like cutting benefits to the poorest Brits and wanting to give tax breaks to rich foreigners.

People in this country are getting conned the same way Americans were conned by Trump in 2016.

    6. callsignhotdog on

The „look after our own“ schtick was always bullshit but I thought they’d keep that to themselves until they were in power.

    7. Pale_Slide_3463 on

Basically echoing what GB “news” said about just shooting disabled people.

People don’t realise how easy it is to suddenly become sick.

    8. GianfrancoZoey on

It’s rarely really brought up because of course it isn’t, but Reform’s economic ideas are the exact kind of ‘libertarian’ insanity that Truss tried to implement

I put libertarian in quotes because while they pretend to be libertarian they’re anything but. They want companies and businesses to be able to do anything they like while people suffer, and (much like Labour) they would also heavily involve Palantir in the operation of the government.

    9. Important_Ruin on

Triple Lock? Or would that upset your voter base too much, as that’s costing a fortune and unsustainable.

I guess it will be things like UC etc. Cause everyone claims that is a ’scrounger‘ and benefits cheat.

    10. tipytopmain on

Interesting dialogue. I’m pretty sure a big chunk of Reforms growing base are those hovering around the poverty line who would suffer first from a curtailed welfare budget. But I imagine Farage will quickly pivot this point into „The migrants won’t get a penny so we can do more with less etc“.

    11. Affectionate_Role849 on

The welfare bill does need to be cut though, even Starmer attempted it.

We can’t afford it, no disabled person should be forced into work if they can’t, but it shouldn’t become a lifestyle choice. We have a very squeezed and narrow tax base as is and a ballooning welfare bill.

I assume Reform wouldn’t implement it fairly, but the principle is correct.

    12. >He says that that his mass deportation plans would cost £10 billion, but save £7 billion.

What a joke. Only he can create plans that overall cost money but get support for it.

    13. UppaPeelersYeoow on

And where exactly do they think the saved money is gonna goto… Potholes, nhs, schools?

It’s going to the ultra rich you silly mugs

    14. Fast-Drummer5757 on

They’ll sell off the NHS, destroy welfare and pocket the lot. The country will be destroyed.

    15. birdinthebush74 on

Bet they won’t touch pensioners ( one of the largest voting demographics)

    16. IlluminatedCookie on

Didn’t Labour try this with pip? Whatever. He doesn’t know what he’s saying anyway.

    17. PickingANameTookAges on

      Of course he would…

      Nigel F**ktards only questions when it comes to policy making;

      1) „Will it enrich me personally?“
      2) „Will it create difficulty for the majority of British citizens?“
      3) „Will it weaken the United Kingdom?“

If the answer to one is No, it won’t be mentioned. This answer probably carries 52% of the weighting with the other two making up the other 48%.

1 has to be a Yes to even consider 2 and 3, and there must be a minimum of two Yes answers before proposing it as policy.

I fear F**ktard is more dangerous to this country than BoJo the Clown and Liz Lettuce, combined 🤦

    18. Guardian1959 on

Has there been any research done of whether proportional representation would cool Reform

    19. BobBobBobBobBobDave on

A lot of people who are net gainers from the benefits system (lower earners, retirees on state pension, people with child benefits and free nursery hours) will hear this and think „well, he doesn’t mean me“.

      I promise you he does.

    20. HenshinDictionary on

Farage at this point could promise to personally come round and punch every one of his voters in the face and he would still somehow manage to gain supporters.

    21. goonercaIIum on

This is what the morons in labour that shot down the last amendment for minor changes to our welfare bill wanted – don’t say we didn’t tell you so.

    22. Flashy_Error_7989 on

They want to destroy local government pensions as well- one of the only reasons folk work In the public sector is the pension so good luck with that

    23. NegativeCreeq on

Didn’t people lose their minds when Labour tried to make cuts? Double standard if people support Reform doing this.

    24. RandyChavage on

Let me guess they would also make serious cuts to rich peoples taxes leaving the deficit unchanged?

    25. Next thing he’ll say is that Reform is bringing back debtor’s prisons and sending kids back down the mines.

How can people think Reform is going to save the nation?

    26. papercut2008uk on

I feel like we are turning into the current America with trumps nonsense and people falling for it.

    27. baddymcbadface on

Some people ask what will reform go for after immigration. This is it.

Benefits bill combined with the national debt will be the big topic.

    28. bamburypaul on

The problem is he’s right. We need to make big welfare cuts. We need stop thinking of the singular as in how it affects me or even a certain group and more thinking of the nation and realise we have been living beyond our means for to long

    29. All these losers who wanna vote for this guy. Would he even fucking turn up to the job? Has he ever been sighted in Clacton?

    30. Choice-Bus-1177 on

My sister lives off the state and voted reform in the last election. I will be happy to see her suffer and god forbid, get a fucking job.

    31. …and then get rid of the NHS, ban free speech, kill the BBC, allow American IT corporations more power here…

    32. Of course because he believes in Darwin’s theory… survival of the fittest and the rest can just die

    33. I’m sure those cuts will be used to pay down debt or support other services and won’t IN ANY WAY be used to help get the rich elite even richer. In any way… /s

    34. thedarkknight787 on

And the poor will happily vote for this !

We fucked totally totally fucked 🤦‍♂️

    35. Material-Bus1896 on

First they come for immigrants, then disabled people, probably onto gay people after that, then probably everyone who isnt white after that, maybe even Jewish people like the Nazis who came before them. Dark times ahead.

    36. FlockBoySlim on

      – Voted against bill to improve workers rights.
      – Said he’s open to removing affordable care and privatisation of NHS.
      – Wants to repeal human rights act.
      – Avoided paying income tax by funneling his income from his job to a private company where the tax hit is much lower.
      – Pledges significant cuts to welfare budget (that’s all programmes supported by it being hurt presumably not just fuck on the dole)

I give you, the hero of the „ordinary man“.

If Farage snuck into your house and tried to molest you with a pineapple 35% of you wouldn’t notice so long as he promised he’d get rid of all the brown people after he’s done.

      Muppets.

    37. What about pensions Nige? Only party with no policy on triple lock last year.

    38. your_swindon_lot on

What is the alternative? We need higher growth and the only way to do that is increase tax revenues, lower welfare spending and decrease borrowing.

    39. TheAdequateKhali on

Their toothless walnut brained supporters probably think the only reason why they don’t have jobs is because of foreigners.

    40. lol, so he’ll cut the benefits most of his voters receive!!! And yet they will stop vote for him because all they hear Issa ‘fuck off immigrants’

      Love it!
