    1. I think the outcome of this is pretty obvious.
      Some „shady groups“ are going to fund their penalty fees and they are going to practice „law“ (or whatever they think they are practicing) elsewhere.

      What I find weird is that Manitoba has disbarred them for life but they are allowed to practice elsewhere in Canada after 3 years. This means that some provinces could get disbarred lawyers practicing even though they are known for disregarding Canadian laws.

      Given what we know about Boris Johnson’s cabinet was doing during the UK’s COVID lockdowns, that is a reasonable concern. I’m guessing it would have been better for their clients to engage the PI, rather than for them to do it directly.
