      Her appearance in the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot was really forced and would sour you on reboots. I’m hopeful for the Buffy reboot but she is in one of the worst parts of the worst reboots imo.

      We have reboots every year. Some are good, some are not so good. I’m never concerned with the source, only the results.

      I mean yeah what’s she going to say don’t watch the new Buffy I’m in its bad and pointless.

      Nah, its because marketing has become untenable and they need a known IP to target an audience. That is the reason behind all reboots. Its just a business fact.

      Will this reboot be ‘Monster-of-the-Week’ like the original show, or just one long story cut into 8-12 episodes?

      Or maybe just maybe Hollywood likes to regurgitate old shows because there’s no new ideas coming out. Everything is just copied from something else. IMO not a lot of new ideas coming out.

      Yeah, it’s all about the concept and then the writing; if both are good then the fan base will accept it. I could see a Buffy reboot with her daughter being the new slayer.

      It means stars who didn’t really work out elsewhere have an easy cash cow to fall back on 20-30 yrs later.

      This isn’t about the „work“ or „art“. It’s about a convenient paycheck and exploiting nostalgia of fans.

      And more often than not these reboots are nothing more than „remember this??!!“

      There’s been lots of media I’ve been a fan of that resonated with me just because it did doesn’t mean I’m demanding more nor should hollywood accommodate me by giving me it.

      Things have to end and we need to move on to something else. Many reboots ring hollow trying to recapture the magic of the original but the term lightning in a bottle exists for a reason.

      Keeping past franchises alive also closes doors to newer ones being tried. Maybe there’s a fan of Buffy wanting to do something similar but different now a studio can reject them and say it’s fine we got Buffy again.

      Eh. It means that there is very little creativity left in Hollywood and they have to resort to reboots for revenue generation.

      No, It means they have no talent or imagination of their own but, think they deserve as much recognition and respect as the originals without doing any work. Reboots are about as original and soulful as AI.

      It depends how it’s done. Dexter: Original Sin was really pretty good. It built on the original series and had amazing acting and interesting storylines. Such a shame that it didn’t get renewed.

      It concerns me a bit that the Buffy reboot is – „HEY, WHAT ABOUT – THE FANS WILL LOVE THIS – WHAT ABOUT WE BRING SUNNYDALE BACK?!“

      And that kind of pisses on the ending of the original series a bit. It’s frustrating, because Buffy could be anywhere, doing anything and it would’ve been interesting.

      We have a whole wealth of Slayers to choose from, too. If you wanted you could even dip into the comics for inspo.
