Sometime earlier, I made a comment about foreigners working on trains, there’s not conductors on a train but at train gates but seems like a good move. I really would like to see some foreign train conductors on Shinkansen who’ll be able to warn foreign passengers.
Communication is not just about being able to speak a language but also being able to understand social norms in other countries. I’ve met with some people who have been to international school in Japan. They speak English very well but found what they speak about and how they say it is little bit awkward.
It maybe the first time some tourist came to Japan or travelled outside their country and the time difference and all the hassle getting onto the train may stress them out. Finding somebody who they can trust may relax them and avoid them making a scene.
