Amma talaði aldrei um Íslenska Wool þegar hún prjónaði lopapeysur á mig

It’s hard to see from the pictures, but the label is definitely not authentic Icelandic (if you are going to write something in icelandic on something you are trying to pass off as Icelandic, at least spell it right).

Most of the lopapeysa that are sold to tourists is not made in Iceland, maybe with Icelandic wool but if you want handmade lopapeysa you have to find an individual that makes them from scratch.

It’s not authentic in the sense of it being made by an old Icelandic grandma or being a pullover wool sweater. But it seems to be hand knitted and the pattern and colors seem fine, there is even a knitting mistake on the left sleeve.

It’s seems nice and comfy. But I wouldn’t pay premium price for it, for being labeled as authentic.
