Yeah, sure… as long as they realize that the right to free speech is what prevents police/government from cracking down on them – it doesn’t prevent social consequences.
It seems that in today’s world, way too many people think free speech means they can say whatever they like and everyone else just has to take it.
Maybe I’m not seeing it, but is the difference between the upper and lower graph displayed anywhere? The data is different but all other labels appear the same.

They asked Gen-Z in 2016? Almost nobody in Gen-Z was even done with school. I don’t know if it’s really useful to poll a bunch of teenagers.

Are we really posting data that’s 9 years old in here? In 2016 the age range of Gen-Z is 4 years old to 19 years old. I would imagine that the younger ~75% of that generation’s answers really do not matter here. So without knowing what age range they asked, this definitely seems like shitty data and not applicable to today anyways. Not to mention it’s just a fucking orange bar graph, which is the opposite of beautiful.
They should twist the question around and ask them if it’s offensive to THEIR religion or minority group and see how the opinions shift.

There will be quite different interpretation of the meaning of free speech and religion across countries. e.g. in German the translation is Meinungsfreiheit which means freedom of opinion.
Flipping someone off for example might be seen as free speech in one culture while the next calls it harassment, disorderly behaviour, incitement to violence and so on depending on the exact scenario.

That’s a very carefully phrased question. There is a huge difference between saying something that offends someone or saying something that endangers someone. The former is absolutely fine, the latter is not.
One thing that would have really been useful here would be to color code the columns by region. The countries are already sorted by region, might as well make this clear by color-coding by region as well. (I would also like further sort the regions differently. Right now it goes europe, north america, oceania, middle east, asia, south america, africa. A different sorting might be oceania, north america, south america, africa, europe, middle east, asia, so that you have an eastward progression.
I feel like this would look better on what plot with two side by side bars per country making it easier to compare the difference based on the question.

Depends entirely on how you define „violent“ and „non-violent“
Making this a grouped bar chart would drastically improve it.
Also, the top scale ending just above 80 and the bottom scale ending just below 80 is a bit confusing.
