This is one area of the conflict where I would hope people across the spectrum are of the belief we should be more involved in.
And if need be, Israel should be loosening restrictions enough to bring in more food via truck if there are serious concerns about food being damaged through air drops. I assume that’s the reason Jordan was criticizing the aid drops done in early August.
The Canadian government has spent the last 2 years unashamedly providing Israel with military, economic and diplomatic support as it carries out the genocide in Gaza (and this is the party that was *less* vehemently Zionist in the last elections). How many more revelations of weapons shipments that the government will then lie about, how many more toothless government statements that fail to condemn a single Israeli atrocity (and there have certainly been no shortages of those), how many anti-Palestine UN votes do we need to finally come to a conclusion as a country that our government is going against the public consensus (as established by poll after poll) and making us all complicit in a genocide? I’d say expecting any semblance of “leadership” on this issue is a big stretch here.
