The authors – Kurt Campbel (Former Indopacific ‚Czar‘) and Jake Sullivan (Former NSA) argue that, unlike previous eras, the current global environment demands a more formal and robust strategic relationship between the U.S. and India. They propose establishing a strategic alliance, grounded in mutual commitments, to reinforce cooperation not only on defense and security—but also on broader geopolitical and economic fronts .
This ship has now sailed. No one in India is now going to trust the US to enter into any kind of alliance. Indian Government does not break agreements it enters into. The same cannot be said about the US Government.
