      Gardaí said he had been assessed the previous night in hospital, adding, that his brother, should he be granted bail, would be willing to drive him to the psychiatric hospital in Waterford and bring him home once assessed.

      Seamus Murphy, the brother of the accused, told the court that he would be willing to take Vincent to hospital and bring him home once assessed.

      Bolger said the accused would address his medical concerns if granted bail and given the opportunity.

      Judge Cheatle said he would not grant bail. He remanded the accused in custody, ordering that he be psychiatrically assessed while in custody.

      I do think it’s a good thing to have the flag displayed more but definitely not in the way it’s being used.

      Wonder if there is a way for the saner cohert to reclaim it.

      I think this man needs help not prison, it’s obviously not the actions of a sane person. I also find it upsetting that people who have been violent towards other people are bailed but damage police property and you are remanded.

      There is a guy driving, speeding to be honest, around my area with Ireland flags sellotaped to the bonnet and boot of his car. People have gone mad but some people have gone fucking mental.

      We learned during COVID that 20% of the population are actually mad. Before that we imagined that everyone was „like us“.

      The safety, and the future progress of Ireland relies on how the 80% contain and regulate the 20%.

      This madness is a naturally occuring phenomenon. We all have to accept that it’s not a freak event. Its not a once off. 20% of the people around us are capable of anything.

      FFG talking a big game like they’re going to clamp down on Irish people displaying Irish flags in Irish streets in Irish towns and Irish cities in ‚unauthorised‘ or ‚inappropriate‘ ways, thinking to themselves *“what could possibly go wrong“.*
