Worse than Weinstein case because Epstein and Trump had been raping kids.

Let everyone on the list be charged possibly including Andrew, Clinton and Bill Gates.

This is beyond political party. I would also like to know why this was not released in previous administrations.

Still two votes shy of getting it on the floor. My bet is they’ll never get it to 218 so these women can come out and pretend to care about the victims, while worshiping their rapist.

That should not be the news being reported. The horrific insanity is that 216 GOP representatives do not support releasing the bill.

Start running ads on those who wont and paint them as enablers…dont let up until Nov 2026

    5. Call your reps today. Tell them to support the measure to release the Epstein files, and tell them why it matters to you.

Use the 5calls app; it makes calling your senators and representative super easy.

      From the article:

      >Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Nancy Mace have all come out in support of the discharge petition, while virtually everyone else in their party cowers in fear of angering the president further. Speaker Mike Johnson has continued to offer [distractions and outs](https://newrepublic.com/post/199885/mike-johnson-vote-epstein-files) to Republicans who don’t want to oppose Trump, even going so far as to declare recess early and offer a shadow vote to give GOPers cover and pretend they’re doing something about the Epstein files.

This paragraph does not describe American democracy. We are something „other“ now, but not a democracy. When lawmakers need to be afraid of the president of the United States, we have ceased being a democracy. When the speaker of the house kowtows to an infamous rapist, offering to dismiss evidence of his possible wrongdoing (i.e., raping underage girls) and seeks to give lawmakers „outs“ as a way to avoid punishment from the president of the United States, we are not living in a democracy.

King Donald raped women. He very probably also raped young children. He has a string of illegalities a mile and a half long. He’s a known philanderer, cheat, thief, crook and abuser of women. And he doesn’t try to hide it.

Yet the speaker of the house, Mike Johnson, who (believe me) has demons of his own, wants to make things comfortable for republican lawmakers so that they can avoid the messy ordeal of being in King Donald’s bad graces.

Fuck the entire Republican Party. They’re abetting a known criminal. For money. For prestige. For honor and fake medals. Fuck Mike Johnson. May Jesus Christ descend from the heavens and shit on his face. And lastly, fuck Donald J. Trump.

So the vast majority of Republicans support protecting pedophiles. Got it.

    8. TintedApostle on

So the „selected“ ones. This happens every time. Just not enough to change the outcome.

Just think about this the law and order President doesn’t want to release the files that he is in

    10. neodiodorus on

The very fact that this is a matter of a much troubled voting is the horrifying aspect.

Whatever comes out will be exceptionally altered. This has been a wonderful distraction for the administration while they continue to trample on our civil rights, pushing us further towards a potential civil war and further consolidating power to the executive.

Should the perpetrators be held accountable? Yes, absolutely yes. But you think one of the biggest offenders is going to willingly expose himself as being involved? Yeah right.

Remove the fascist from power, then hold him accountable.

    12. Wouldn’t that be a hoot if the three worst Republican women voted against Trump to release everything. In the end, a few will be allowed to support the release while a razor thin margin opposes it. Republicans have too much to lose to allow it.

Where is fake Christian Mike Johnson on this? Is he fighting as hard as ever to bury the files and claiming God told him to do that?

    15. SameBodybuilder3263 on

The numbers aren’t enough to make it happen. So, big deal? No. It isn’t.

    16. Life-Celebration-747 on

Only 3?! Do all the others that voted against it fantasize about raping children? Do they have child porn on their computers? Are they scared of being named in the files?

There is NO FUCKING EXCUSE to block this unless you’re implicated.

    17. Leather_Cream351 on

Trump’s response to the press conference was: “This is democrat hoax.”

My God. This guy is disgusting and cruel.

    18. Any_Will_86 on

I think its up to at least 4 now- Massey, MTG, Bobert, and Mace. When the latter 3 have become he voice of reason, we are cooked.

Can you imagine the panic these Republican cowards are feeling. They know eventually the stuff will come out, but you gotta time your exit well. The cracks are forming…

    20. Fantastic-Swim6230 on

So, only three Republicans who can guarantee they’re not on the list, associated with anyone who is, or are being paid off.

    21. If Mike Johnson was a real leader, he would let this thing go through. They would get another 20 or 30 Republicans if Johnson was behind it.

HOWEVER … in the real world Johnson is on „a mission from God“ and sees this pedo, fraudster, swindler, traitor as doing God’s work, maybe by bringing on the End Times or some such nonsense. So Johnson will run interference for the most disgusting person in the world.

    22. No. There is something very wrong here.

There’s NO way those 3…of ALL people are voting against Trump’s interests. Just ZERO.

This is gamesmanship. A big show so it looks more legit when they release doctored horseshit. If it were literally ANYONE else, maybe.

If Trump asked them to kill their first borns they’d start sharpening the knives.

      Something is afoot here.

    23. They always do this shit. They pick a few to make the news by voting against whatever while towing the party line across the board.

    24. RoadtripReaderDesert on

No no no don’t fall for the „There are some good republicans act“ this is a calculated move. The files are redacted. They need this appearance of discord to sell the redacted files to the public. This is nothing more than theatre. The more they make it seem like they’re breaking rank, the more they hope the public will believe whatever redacted bullshit they release. Use your noodles people

    25. TheDoctorDB on

The fact that the headline even needs to be worded like that is pretty much everything that’s wrong with our current situation. No one should be indebted to Trump. Those are reps of their constituents, not their president. It’s not about “defying” Trump, it’s just about doing their jobs.

Ofc anyone in government actually doing their jobs is news-worthy these days…
