A tourist has sparked outrage after he filmed himself taking a beverage placed as an offering on a grave in Japan and drinking its contents.
The supposed influencer, identified by local media as Lochie Jones from Sydney, uploaded a video in August of himself at Aokigahara, a forest near Mt Fuji that is notorious for suicides. He finds a canned cocktail by a grave, flips a coin to decide whether to drink it and then does so.
He also engaged in a bizarre rant, exclaiming: “The mental health here has to be some of the worst, and I can absolutely understand why. The Japanese women are absolutely vicious and cold … the men still have their honour but it’s been weaponised against them. They’ve been tricked into not having any feelings, and it results in one of the highest suicide rates in the world.”
