As a Slovak Im not bothered by that fact at all. Im not interested in shallow minded visitors who will not visit us for any kind of prejudice. On the other hand, open minded inteligent visitors who take at least basic effort to gather some basic information about the country and decide to visit us are more than welcome. I have visited many European cities brutally raped by mass toursim. If I can choose, when it comes to foreign visitors, I choose quality over quantity…

We truly do not appreciate our castles enough. Mainly because wherever you are, you’re never more than two villages away from some medieval ruin.

Well, yes, you are definitely right.

But in my honest opinion, it’s the people (born Slovaks) who move from our country to live abroad that spread hateful things. I live in Czechia, and from what I hear from my colleagues or other Slovak people I meet, everyone seems to be trying to make Slovakia look like a shithole and claim they will never return.

I understand that the politics are bad, and I, too, have moved away, but I would never speak badly about our heritage, culture, or nature. I’m glad you enjoyed your visit.
