I honestly think the whole story just makes Trump look like he is still stuck in campaign mode instead of acting like someone who actually wants to solve problems. He sees Xi, Putin, and Kim standing together in Beijing at a parade and the first instinct is to fire off a Truth Social post that reads like a bad punchline. He is not wrong that those leaders are not friendly to the US but the way he framed it as if Xi is personally conspiring like some cartoon villain feels silly. It reads less like strategy and more like someone trying to get applause from his base. The bigger question is why these three are even comfortable lining up for a photo op together and why the US keeps letting the narrative be controlled by the optics of their parades instead of offering some stronger alternative presence in Asia. Trump lashing out with sarcastic remarks might feel satisfying for him but it does not really change the balance of power.

What bothers me more is how every side will use this kind of line for their own politics at home. Chinese media will spin it as Trump being unhinged. Russian and North Korean outlets will turn it into proof that the US is scared. And in the US his supporters will eat it up as if calling out Xi online is the same thing as actual policy. Meanwhile the reality is that Xi, Putin, and Kim standing shoulder to shoulder is a reminder that authoritarian states are more than happy to show unity when it suits them.
