Isn’t this going to make it even easier for Chromium to maintain its browser monopoly? The money Google gives Mozilla for its exclusive search deal for Firefox is the majority of Firefox’s revenue.
So Google just lost its $20B per year deal with Apple?

This makes sense. I don’t know why Chrome was involved really. The exclusive search deals cut right to the issue.
Funny they basically got caught doing what Microsoft did – paying to put their thing somewhere with a clause that said it had to be exclusive. They are lucky they don’t have to do a consent decree. That hamstrung MS in many ways. (Rightly or wrongly)
Only another tech giant could afford it and it would not change anything in the end.
