It took four months for the CRA to verify my identity and reconnect my online account (an intermittent problem since the 2021 info breach) so that I could file my 2024 tax return. It is clear that the CRA is understaffed.
If AI is going to go anywhere it should be there.
A dedicated chatbot could likely solve a lot of technical questions. Not sure if it could handle personal information but would still filter a lot out.
