Donald Trump has admitted that his administration is being “ripped apart” by the fight over COVID-19, which caused chaos in Washington, D.C. last week, after the Daily Beast reported on [secret discussions](https://www.thedailybeast.com/donald-trump-and-robert-f-kennedy-junior-to-ban-covid-19-vaccine-within-months/) to pull the vaccine.

Trump demanded that drugmakers justify the ongoing use of their COVID vaccines by releasing new evidence in a Labor Day morning rant. It is the first major public indication that Trump is beginning to lose faith in his own vaccine program amid an onslaught of criticism from within the MAGA community.

Trump never ever backs down. He will retreat, but in 3 months he will do it again or has already done it while he creates another crisis.

The MAGA and MAHA dynamic remains an odd pairing. The MAHA focus is not a hill Trump wants to die on. He brought on RFK Jr. because he would dismantle government institutions and that is what MAGA wants. Kennedy just had to promise be a good MAGA solider on key issues – abortion, Medicare, trans rights, etc., which he was willing to do.

Trump himself is all about economics and how he’s viewed internationally. If this vaccine focus threatens his standing, Kennedy is going to find himself in the same position as Musk – cast out. Nobody in MAGA world thinks he’s a true believer. He’s a useful idiot. And he’s starting to not be useful to their bigger goals.

    5. Well upvote just for the picture they chose. And Trump and Republicans are anti-science. The rest of the world is moving to the future and we are pushing for fossil fuels and getting rid of life saving vaccines. And Trump has made the US a hated country where no one wants to deal with us or trade with us. The US is failing under Republicans.

The future is not look bright for the US.

    6. Seems like it’d have more to do with.. just about every single lie? RFK for sure should not be there let alone exist in human form (dog shit would be more suitable maybe). Release the Epstein Files.

Then just fire brain worm guy.

You fire everyone else, actually do one that’s useful, ass wipe.

    8. I think this is an extortion attempt to get pharma companies to pony up cash and/or favors.

    9. Does anybody think that this means that there are actually members of his administration who oppose „death by preventable disease?“

Probably a good idea to think about that question as you consider your Mid-Term votes… Then, too, there’s a question as to whether those possible anti-death GOPs would actually do anything about it. The total absence of any real GOP opposition to gun violence might be a data point here.

This implies there’s a level of stupid the MAGA base won’t go for.

      I’m not convinced yet.

I love the choice of photo.

RFK „I am healthy enough that I can swim in sewage without ill effect“ Jr, tonguing a canker sore.

Many things the GOP does like giving tax cuts to billionaires, covering up Trump’s pedophilia, allowing companies to pollute freely etc. are evil, but the motivation is clear.

The vaccine thing I don’t even understand the motivation for. Like what possible reason is there for this apart from wanting Americans to suffer and die for the sake of it?

    13. The „vaccine fight“ is just a symptom of a larger problem. Republicans have long cobbled together electoral victories by making promises (lies) to groups with bizarre one-issue demands. Wanting the votes, they appeal to goofy anti-vaxxers knowing full well that to actually fulfill their promises they’d have to alienate larger voting blocs. Is there a federal ban on abortion? No. And they can’t ban vaccines, either.

But it doesn’t matter because the election is over and they’ll just spew more lies when the next one comes around. And the morons who put these people in office will believe the new lies despite knowing that they were lied to the last time around.

Allow all vaccines and let patients consult with their doctors to decide. Freedom and liberty?

    17. Imagine supporting a party that is “ripped apart” over simple science and proven facts.
