This is why I tell people to make a list… don’t let them get away with it.
Had people do the same shit with Bush Jr. So many conservatives at my work talked about how terrible he was and said they didn’t vote for him.
Just like nobody admits to cheering on the disastrous invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s a feature of shameless/stupid/evil people.

People are already starting to deny they voted for Trump. But the most fucked up part of it is that they will still vote for him again.
In the future? I already know people that are denying it now.

What’s even worse than the voters who will just deny it… those voters who still after all that has happened, after all the chaos, all the graft, all the distortion of reality, all of the harm, all the awful rhetoric, all the destruction of institutions; have the gall and audacity to validate their choice by saying it would be so much worse with Harris.
How on earth could it be worse?
When posed with that question, the reluctant Trump voter and non-denialist, stumbles awkwardly to try and produce some coherent thought.
Often ending their idiotic and absurd commentary by simply saying, I don’t know, but it would just be so much worse.
My advice is:. Do not spend Labor Day with these people. They need to know the weight of their decision. They need to know that what they’re doing is not OK and will not be tolerated. There’s a way to make your point without being cruel, and it involves a polite ostracism. Remove the gift of your presence. It’s one of the few tools that we have left in the toolbox..
Maybe the first time. I think some people were desperate for any sort of shock to the system, any big change. Many were just racist idiots having meltdowns over being led by a black man, but some maybe felt abandoned by politicians. But now? No excuse. They knew what he is. I don’t think anyone who voted for him this time around will be able to de-brainwash themselves to the level of self-assessment and accountability and shame that is needed to understand how awful voting for him was.
Fortunately, his voters all look the same.

One idea is to add how many times someone voted for trump in their obituary.
While I haven’t heard anyone say it. I have noticed that a lot of Trump signs, flags, and shrines are quietly disappearing. I mean, these are the folks that have had them since 2016, and their lawns are back to looking like lawns again. Don’t see nearly as many MAGA hats either.
Most conservatives call Bush a liberal now and blame the Iraq war on Hillary Clinton, as if they didn’t tell me I hated America and our troops when I protested the war back then. They have no real values.
GWB was the same way. Two years out of office, you couldn’t find a soul who ever voted for him. He didn’t have red hats, though.
