Seems quite possible that the shooters have seen other shooters do this in the past and noticed it was a way for some of their “message” or whatever the hell to be seen by media no?
That would be my best guess. Somebody that does something like this probably has done a lot of research into past shootings and seen things like this.

The Minneapolis incident was bad, but everyone was shot at. That Buffalo video was way more disturbing, selecting who to off and walking past others. (If I’m remembering the correct video)
Why isn’t that censored? FBI censored the literature of the columbine actors. This is arguably far more dangerous for people to see that rifle marked like that. And how has media gotten a full photo shoot with it this soon after??? Uncensor literatures of mass shooters or censor it. It can’t be both.
