Hopefully they cut in an intelligent way. The Chrétien-Martin spending review was a good precedent in terms of process. I don’t envy the ministers. Cutting is tough. Your officials will hate you, bugs and glitches will manifest, you will receive angry messages from voters, and the media and opposition will try to embarrass you.
