    1. ‚The parent company of American alcohol producers such as Jack Daniel’s whisky and Woodford Reserve bourbon says sales to Canada dropped 62 per cent during the latest fiscal quarter compared to a year ago, as American alcohol remains off the shelves in many provinces.‘

Canada is the second largest market for US distilled spirits. Many provinces have removed these products from store shelves.

The LCBO, SAQ, and BCLDB are three of the largest single customers for liquor in the world, if the US is so adamant that they need not Canada, then they clearly need not as well three of the largest customers in the world for their liquor just as well.

I would also say, in light of the Crown Royal announcement, the Food and Drug Act/Spirit Drinks Trade Act should be amended to require Canadian Whisky to be bottled in Canada prior to export as a requirement to be labelled as „Canadian Whisky.“
