Please understand that this wasn’t a mistake. It is policy.
Brain development involves hormones released during puberty. It’s not hard to imagine that diverting puberty is going to divert brain development to some extent.
Like we don’t even want kids smoking or drinking but we are going to let them paralyze their main development process. Just let em get high at that rate. All ten year olds should have free tablets with internet, beer and cigarettes if they want! They can decide if they want to be sober later when their brains are developed!

In fact, it says puberty blockers as a temporary means to treat gender dysphoria *reduces* suicidal ideation.
It was pretty clear when Biden nominated a trans woman to assistant secretary of health.

It’s almost like trans people are treated poorly by society and get bullied, which increases their risks of depression and suicidality.
Increased risk of suicidal ideation is a very common symptom for a variety of medications. Anti-depressants, hair-loss medication, diabetes/weight loss medication, etc. Millions more kids are on those sorts of drugs than are ever on puberty blockers. Why aren’t you mad about those?
Slightly increased risk of drug-induced suicidal ideation is usually a reasonable risk for people with depression-induced suicidal ideation to take. Why would that risk not be reasonable for a person with dysphoria-induced suicidal ideation?
