CDC wants to protect humans, this is in direct opposition of the regimes plans.
Article says RFK listens to no one in the CDC, where’s he getting his information from he’s using to make policy?

Bill Cassidy, the deciding vote on appointing RFK Jr, acted like the last good Republican. We can all see what that was worth. Even Republican doctors can’t be trusted.

I don’t think anyone’s surprised that the people responsible for health policy haven’t taken 5 minutes to listen to the experts we pay to know things about health policy. They have „better sources“.
After all, the people responsible for intelligence policy have openly admitted they haven’t taken 5 minutes to listen to the experts we pay to know things about intelligence. They have „better sources“.
Not to mention that the people responsible for economic policy have openly admitted they haven’t taken 5 minutes to listen to the experts we pay to know things about economics. They have „better sources“.

It’s not surprising that this administration is trying to fire vast swathes of the government given that they are all too eager to throw research from world class scientists and engineers into the circular file in favor of something they read on Facebook.
I’m not saying we need a full wall here, but maybe us Canadians need to think about building a big sneeze guard.
If the Dems take back the house, the next two years needs to be spent doing nothing but holding hearings to investigate all this bullshit, and clawing as much power back for Congress as possible.

I was listening to a news report the other day that RFK Jr had influence in Samoa and used that influence to test a theory on vaccines with the population of Samoa that resulted in unnecessary deaths. He’s just as empathy a shell as Trump is.

I don’t understand.. When be was growing up his mother would have him vaccinated for Polio, Measles Chicken Pox, Diphtheria and Tuberculosis which kept him healthy through his life. And now he doesn’t want vaccines, etc for you and your children. They want families to starve and live in tin sheds. And bring us into another Depression Era
This administration is out to kill us off.
The US saw the highest amount of measles cases in 33 years, and I think 3 deaths in 2025. I’m not shocked at all by any of this. We are voting stupidity into the government.
I can’t imagine being so colossally arrogant that I simply ignore the advice of not just one scientific expert, but an entire center of them. He’s killing people because of this.
For everyone who is alarmed by this situation (rightly so) consider what you can do to help counteract the hostility of the HHS.
If you got out of the habit of having respirator masks on hand, buy a box. Wear them when you’re sick, when you know you’ve been around someone who is sick, and when you go to a space that many disabled or vulnerable people need to access like the hospital.
The news has moved on from Covid, bird flu, measles outbreaks etc. You are not going to hear about a newly discovered variant or surprise outbreak. Just treat all infections like they might be serious.

I couldn’t even schedule a COVID shot for me and my kid. We aren’t eligible, apparently and now I need an RX from a doctor for my kid to get one. We are so fucked indeed.

So republicans want people to have more babies, they just don’t give a shit if those babies live to see their first birthday, got it.
RFK believes in eugenics, that superior genes will prevail, that vaccines allow those with weak genes to prosper. He said it with chickens, that we shouldn’t treat chickens, to let bird flu wipe out the weaker chickens, and to breed the surviving superior chickens.
That is likely the explanation why he is so anti-vaccine.
With guys like RFK, I can’t help but wonder – is it bad faith? Or is the guy just absolutely and totally nuts?
I earnestly don’t know which is worse. If the system is so fucked that even in one of the most politically stable empires to ever exist, a complete crackpot could rise to his level of influence and authority. Or if some people are so sociopathic that they could put on the act he’s putting on, while making perfect chess moves all the way to the top.
It’s almost certainly the former, but the amount of nihilism that engenders in me feels limitless.
