Pretty much entirely driven by asset appreciation and interest income of the wealthy.
It’s a world where you either own assets and are ahead or you don’t own assets and you are left increasingly behind.
Once you have a decent amount of money in the market, a swing of just a couple of percentage points can result in eye-watering gains (or losses) ‘on paper’.
