There is a huge flaw with the way they have calculated these statistics. The average commute time for „Toronto“ only includes the City of Toronto proper, who are the lucky ones you can afford or have inherited a house or condo in one of the most unaffordable cities in the world. Most people who are forced to work in Toronto have to commute from the suburbs, and even further afield from Barrie, Hamilton and St. Catherines, even Niagara Falls and Brantford. When you count in all the commuters the average time is significantly higher. These are the people who are chiefly disadvantaged and frozen out of the good jobs with the end of work from home and forced return-to-Toronto-office.
