Despite what you may have seen with your eyes or read about in the paper. Please accept as refutation this paragraph long letter to the editor from a random person who does not provide any example of how precisely Carney has „kept Canada’s elbows up“. Seems like the editor torqued that headline pretty good, because the letter doesn’t even really purport to make that case, pretty much just says it’s up to everybody to do their part.
Yeah, the fact that we don’t have a deal is a good indicator that we didn’t knuckle under like the EU, Japan, or SK.
The only thing that matters for Canada is keeping CUSMA alive in some shape or form and not have to fund a slush fund.
We know. The anti-liberal crowd likes to say anti-Carney things and foreign actors love to sow unrest. Stay calm and Carney on. He’s a patriot working for Canada.

If we sign a bad agreement under Trump, there will be no negotiations any time soon for a better deal under future presidents. There is wisdom in not reaching an agreement with Trump to try to reach a more reasonable deal with a more reasonable administration.
