Do we think they ever put one of their big theatrical releases on D+ and not had it become the top movie that week?
Why do they think we care about streaming platform metrics? We already pay for it, it’s not like convincing someone to go out and buy a ticket. I just picture the companies rubbing their nipples to it like in South Park.
Must not be a lot of content out there.
But I guess a lot of people didn’t bother seeing it in theaters either.
I was merely whelmed by it.

I hope they make each movie just like this one. Then I no longer have to care if anymore come out and I can enjoy new and interesting things. I love when embrace mediocrity, they keep showing their lack of intelligence and imagination.
Glad I didn’t see this movie at the theaters. Horrible plot line. After Endgame, the MCU movies have been trash.
And therein lies the issue with D+ and streamers in general, they’ve allowed studios to effectively kill theatrical releases. The studios love it because they control more of the entire distro pipeline like the did way back in the day. Shorter release windows, they no longer have to print DVDs to share with retail, so it’s pure profit being completely digital.
People have been trained to not see the movie in the theaters because they know it will hit streaming quickly. Things were trending this way for a long time, but COVID speed the inevitable process up.
Given the extremely limited new content on Disney+, it’s no surprise that any big release there is going to do well.
