The only way for PP to succeed is for Carney to fail. Left to his own merits and abilities PP will never find success.

Of coarse he’s the same – that’s what his party voters want of him and why they didn’t elect different party leader who was less combative.

Granted, there’s some who perhaps dislike the shtick but voted in the general election based on the party’s platform, but clearly there weren’t enough Canadians of this mindset to deliver PP a minority or majority government.

Aside from the obvious, it’s a glimpse into how it would have gone if he had won.

Canada has a moment of both peril and opportunity. Provinces want to remove barriers, the assumptions about pipelines and development have all changed, the book is being rewritten, and it was very well put that we can „give ourselves more than anyone can take away“. As PM, assuming he kept his seat and didn’t have to play cowboy all summer, Poilievre would have spent his the last months whining about Trudeau to patch over his own poor choices as they unfold in real time.

He’s a poor leader, it’s as simple as that. He can whine and yap, but he can’t lead. Ford proved Canadians can see a conservative as the antidote to Trump, and there is no reason the CPC couldn’t have been the answer except for its leader. Instead of waiting for Liberals to fail, they simply need to provide a clear conservative vision for Canada’s future.

The logical thing to do would be to reevaluate your strategy and change your narrative.

On the other hand, it appears that for a specific type of politician, when they start losing relevance, they are actually doubling-down on the same strategy as if they think that doing the same thing over and over again will bring a new outcome.

When someone is consistently losing a game. there are three options:

1) You change your strategy.

2) You stop playing the game and you go do something else.

3) Your team kicks you out and brings a better player.

A player and/or a team refusing to adapt is essentially saying „I like losing at this game.“

As an NDPer I don’t love everything Carney is doing. But I’d probably hold my nose and vote Liberal again if another election were called.

The thing that cost the party the election was the infighting between the federal party and its counterparts. Aside from that, it was the party’s highest share of the vote in nearly 40 years, the highest post-merger anyway. There is nothing to indicate that the party needs to drastically change course.
