She’s not diplomatic enough to represent a plurality, Alan Kelly recognises this.

    3. She’s one of the worst candidates in a generationally poor field of candidates.

I wouldn’t trust anyone who nominated Gemma O’Doherty for president.

Agree with him or not this is a poor decision from AK.

If you’re in a political party you have your discussion indoors and go with the party decision.

Even if he just said „it wasn’t my choice but I’ll support the party decision“ that’d be something.

Otherwise why not just run as an Indo? He had a shot to lead the party and did poorly.

The irony of people on here from the left criticising Kelly for going solo and not swinging up the arms as a team player meanwhile they laud Higgins for doing exactly this during his presidency and would be all for Connolly doing same during hers! Hard left and hypocrisy never far apart ….

Labour just loves holier than thou people even if it means losing. I don’t like Alan at all, but he’s right to have a go at the party for picking a sure loser to run.

Connolly is hard left, something most of this country, rightfully, has no time for.
