    1. Nigel Farage’s Reform UK would allow a fossil fuel company owned by a Donald Trump donor to open up a huge fracking site in Greater Lincolnshire, DeSmog can reveal.

Andrea Jenkyns, Reform’s mayor in the region, recently met with Egdon Resources – an oil and gas firm owned by Texas-based Heyco Energy – which claims it has discovered huge deposits of natural gas in the Gainsborough Trough basin.

Jenkyns has said a Reform government would allow companies to extract the gas via fracking, pledging to echo Donald Trump’s U.S. administration by allowing major polluters to “drill baby drill”. Egdon, INEOS, and Island Gas (iGas) currently hold licences to drill the area.

George Yates, who owns Egdon and Heyco, has donated more than $130,000 to Trump and his allies since the beginning of 2019 according to DeSmog’s analysis.

“Reform’s pledge to hand out fracking licences to a Trump donor’s company shows exactly whose interests they serve – and it’s certainly not ordinary people. Fracking is dangerous, unpopular and has next to no chance of improving our energy security or bringing down bills,” said, Tessa Khan, executive director at the research and campaign group Uplift.

I’m shocked, shocked I tell you at the completely unexpected turn of events that would further his personal wealth, while he’s running on a platform of hate, fear and grift.

His platform, policies and talking points are all scarily familiar and they have about as much chance at being successful in improving regular people’s lives in the UK as those same policies are having in the US.

I wish people that are considering voting for Reform, or at least the ones that aren’t outright Nazi’s, knew about Trump’s rise to power, the promises and policies he used and how they have turned out.

Bad idea pumping gallons of toxic chemicals into the ground where it will eventually end up in the water table. We should be moving away burning fossil fuels as fast as we can.

    4. He’ll hand our human rights over to them as well. He’s a grifter’s grifter.

Well we will probably have another earthquake if they start fracking again! Thanks Nigel!

    6. I often feel like these Reform anti-woke types with their meme hard-ons for fracking ever actually bothered to keep up with the story? The early estimates got slashed massively, we went from possibly having nearly 100 years of gas reserves to probably not even 10. That’s why you don’t hear much about it anymore apart from these nutters who use it more as a pro-climate change kind of thing rather than anything actually serious.

    7. Colour me surprised. In future news the NHS has collapsed , on the bright side we can buy health insurance.
Good God its terrifying he could get in and be the new PM.

Reform will win the next election because the two main parties have no plan to deal with immigration other than blaming each other and trying to claim „only 900K new arrivals this year, a tiny bit less than 2022 record, so success!“
