I think that was a mistake

I’m gonna give this poor soul the benefit of the doubt and assume that it was a momentary lapse in judgment.
How’s that even possible? Wouldn’t the trigger be facing the other way?
This is what happens when you conscript a farmer’s son, give him a week’s training of, „the bullets probably go out of this end“ and then send them to the front lines.
Don’t those also have a minimum arming range? So all the damage done here is just the launch blast?
