I’m not surprised about the part where Japanese citizens espoused racist views and stereotypes about Africans sadly.

Edit: not sure why I’m getting downvoted. Japan has a history of racism and race superiority mindset, or people are downvoting me because they are racist themselves.

Do you ever feel like you are watching the world collectively decending into madness, fuelled by social media?

I know, stating it on social media, but…

    3. At the rate Japan is depopulating there will be entire towns needing people to fill them.

At this point, surely the governments of all countries and their intelligence agencies, can look into these misinformation / disinformation / bot farms and shut them down?

Japan is currently under attack by their own MAGA party.

We are at war.  There is a global attack against liberal and representative democracy in the world.

Trump is just the tip of the shitberg.

      > But soon, misinformation spread – with some local African media reports giving “the false impression that

I’d be willing to bet an ice cold Coca Cola that this originated as Russian or Chinese disinformation, which is rampant across the African continent

    7. Dumb shit all around.

From the Japanese people believing it, to the African media believing they were going to get a part of Japan(lol, so stupid) and finally to the Nigerian government claiming they’ll be able to send their people to Japan.

      > “**There are no plans to take measures to promote the acceptance of immigrants or issue special visas for residents of African countries**, and the series of reports and announcements concerning such measures are not true,”

A succinct way of dispelling these *challenged* rumors, well done Japanese lad. The wording of it makes it clear that they simply *do not* play with multiculturalism, god damn. I can’t remember ever hearing that out of a Western politician/government representative.

The rest of the article is just tangential whining about how the Japanese are racist, not worth the oxygen required to even read it.

Lot of English accounts are pushing it and unsurprisingly that British guy* who pretend to be Japanese on twitter is involved too, and Japanese government accounts that came out to clarify things got attacked by both English and Japanese accounts, it’s pure madness, it’s like watching object reality died .

      * the guy is Colonel otaku gatekeeper(not joking,it’s his real handle),quite infamous bullshiter on twitter.

      >The new program established four cities across different prefectures as symbolic “hometowns” for partner countries in Africa: Mozambique, Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania.

      >“There are no plans to take measures to promote the acceptance of immigrants or issue special visas for residents of African countries, and the series of reports and announcements concerning such measures are not true,” the foreign ministry said in a Monday statement.

I’d be fine with it if what we currently know as social media were permanently canceled

bring back internet forums, they existed for decades without this kind of shit
