All the talk of feral teens by people who didn’t grow up as a teenager in the 80/90s
Ireland is much safer and by and large teens are very well behaved with some exceptions.
So wait, all this teenage crime in Ireland and we are being urged to make it even more difficult to prosecute or am I missing something?
I want a mother and child wing not toddlers running riot without sanction.

Kids will get a slap on the wrist up to the age of 17 for anti-social behaviour. What difference (at all) does this make to the current situation.
If politicians are so eager for the voting age to be lowered to 16, then we should also be lowering the prosecution age to 16.
Criminal responsibility- Ya raise it to 14 years-but any damage created by a person between 9 and 18 years of age the parent/s are held financially liable.
Surely this just incentivises grooming children into crime?
Needs to be lowered so youths under the current age of criminal responsibility are made to answer for their crimes.

Sure what would you expect from The ~~Irish criminals union~~ Irish Council for Civil Liberties.
All this does is raise the age of children that drug dealers will target to sell drugs because they can’t be prosecuted. This is an example of stupid people not understanding the unintended consequences of their actions. 12-14 year olds will be a significant improvement over the <12 year olds for drug distribution.
There are kids as young as 12 going around on scooters in my area selling drugs. It’s time that we gave them more impunity. Great move.
i mean its so arbitrary, under 10 would seem ridiculous but saying when or when someone is legally mature after that at standardized age is also kinda ridiculous.
Anything to do with law and set ages for things is always hugely flawed, voting, criminality, consent, driving…. its important to have them, but more flexible, case by case id say
