Anyone is that position covering up crimes should absolutely have the book thrown at them. The trust and respect of the police depends on it and them.
Not all police are bad, but all bad ones should be made an example of and given the correct punishment for their actions.
Met police covering up their own crimes is a tale as old as time, they should be disbanded.
Not a surprise. Officially, [1.9% of all Met Police officers are under investigation for domestic/sexual abuse](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/dec/23/more-than-1100-officers-under-investigation-for-sexual-or-domestic-abuse-in-england-and-wales) which is an insane figure.
I wonder how many more are covered up or swept under the rug.
