Hallo!

    Danke!

    1. Looks to be an optical fiber link. These are mandatory in all newer apartments.

But it doesn’t necessarily mean that the fiber would carry an Internet connection.

Edit: No, the fiber connection is unrelated to your ethernet based Internet connection.

Try connecting a laptop or phone directly with a cable to the port where the internet connection comes into your apartment. That should give your true internet speed.

    2. Looks to be the fibre optics, but i’m sure someone from telecommunication industry can tell you a better answer. Just dont go touching those.

Make sure your router and network card supports speeds faster than 100mb.

    3. Those are optical fibres cables and connectors. Not sure what the blue connector is, but it connects to the fibres. For a 250mb connections there should no at be any difference between ethernet and fibre.
To try the fibre you need a media converter from the optical to ethernet. And then to the router.

    4. Yellow cable is fiber, you can see 4 strands coming out and if you had a fiber contract, you’d use one of those. I suppose however that you are connected with a copper coaxial cable to get internet to your router.

As for the speed, try to do a speedtest directly on your router to find out if your PC has an issue. If you have wifi, you can also do a speedtest using your phone right next to the router, speed should be larger than 90mbit. If it isn’t, ask your provider to do a check.

Lastly, just because you have a 250mbit contract doesn’t necessarily mean that your building infrastructure supports it, however with fiber being installed I highly doubt any wiring issues…
