    1. The guy needs to have a democratic congress or house. Otherwise he’s like a toddler with no adult in the room.

    2. „Stop calling him a fascist.“ „Democrats did this, too.“ „It’s not that bad yet.“ „When Trump leaves office things will get back to normal.“

And so on. Meanwhile, Rome burns. We’re approaching a tipping point, here.

Trump is fine with Texas though…the hypocrisy. Also, CA is allowing its people to vote on it unlike Texas ramming it through. Also, Texas has been gerrymandered for over 21+ years of GOP complete control. Stop the games, GOP is the deep state and they need to be sanctioned for destroying our country.

Yes, have a registered foreign agent who represented your impeachment for espionage, sue CA

God this guy is the worst person alive on earth. Hopefully he dies of old age soon.

I assume California would accept the loss if it also kept other States from redistricting mid-decade.

California has theirs on the ballot, Texas is doing it behind closed doors. Not that the wanna be dictator cares, but the irony here is just too good.

If this lawsuit is successful then Texas shouldn’t be allowed to do their map

I can see Trump telling SCOUTS to not only take his case but to rule in his favor.

Oh God that pic of Trump. His eye bags have bags. He is physically deteriorating extremely fast.

The hypocrisy is obvious, but is there any legal standing—technical or otherwise—for a lawsuit? Afaik, he’s doing it legally by putting it to a vote. I’m just worried that if there’s even the slightest wiggle room, the DOJ will win the lawsuit.

Or is he just doing it to tie it up in the courts until after the public vote?

    12. Newsom better ignore everything that comes out of the DOJ because, at this moment, it’s not a legitimate department; it’s heavily politicized, and Pam Bondi is just acting as Trump’s personal lawyer.

    13. This is how it will pan out. The lawsuit will go through, it will make its way to scotus. Somehow it will be overturned and rule in trumps favor. Lawsuit will be filed against Texas but it will be too late to overturn and will get to remain because of a technicality.

      I don’t trust in SCOTUS.

I think it’s officially time to stop giving anyone who supports this doofus the benefit of doubt. Parents, grandparents, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters etc.

If you share this and the recipient does mental gymnastics, there should be dire consequences for that relationship.

Ignore the courts and do it anyway.

This blatant affront to the very concept of law and order must be stopped no matter what.

    16. Westcoast_IPA on

Fine…even if they stop California, California can now sue Texas and other gerrymandered states using the same precedent set by this ruling.

    17. Even if he was somehow able to pull it off and let Texas do it…Gavin will just move forward with it anyway pulling another play out of the book of ignoring court orders.

The fact that they said they once said they were against the politicization of the DOJ is laughable.

    19. torgofjungle on

They should ignore the suit and do it anyways it doesn’t matter what they say. fuck them

    20. This is how democracy dies. We make the rules mean less, then elections mean less. Until someone says ‚why elections?‘

    21. permalink_save on

So conservatives. Seriously, explain this. I cannot understand how one state, that has been doing it, can do it even outside of a census, but another that generally does not, is not allowed to.

    22. scrizzlenado on

So if he wins we can turn around and Sue Texas, right based on precedent? Right?

    23. The framing of this headline is bonkers. It was his fucking idea for Texas to redistrict. HE TOLD THEM TO DO IT!!!

    24. MC-ClapYoHandz9 on

Honestly California should just secede if he pulls this off. I’d move there immediately

    25. Vann_Accessible on

      States regulate their own elections.

If the Trump regime tries to take that away, it’s time to start seceding from the union, because we aren’t a republic at that point.

There’s an idiot and a blithering idiot… this guy is both and that’s a heck of an achievement.

I cannot believe we’re not even one fucking year into this presidency.
