    1. This is heartbreaking. Why would they destroy a community’s livelihood like that?

      >The army justified the measure by saying the trees posed a “security threat” to a main Israeli settlement road that runs through the village’s lands.

      Spurious justification…

    3. there were frequent shooting from this olive groove. iirc there was somebody who got shot there a couple of weeks ago and shooter was captured later.

local commander made decision to remove trees in order to prevent shooting.

Were they in a hospital, or looked a little too much like children/reporters?

Israel is doing everything it can to not win friends…

The disgusting settlers (you should see the way they look, literally like characters from the Hills have eyes) have a free pass, any time the Palestinians in the WB resist, it will be labelled antisemitic.

It’s definitely interesting reading how different news outlets (with clear sets of bias) report an event. [The Times of Israel](https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/idf-confirms-uprooting-olive-trees-in-w-bank-village-after-attack-denies-collective-punishment/) reported:

      >The military says this activity included clearing vegetation in an area adjacent to a highway, “which the terrorist used to flee the scene of the attack.”

Al Jazeera did not report it like this.

That being said, I am a supporter of Israel’s existence. But, I don’t care what the reason was for clearing the trees (which I know are a staple of Palestinian culture). This is completely unacceptable.

“Never again” is not a hall pass to terrorize your neighbors. At this point conflating antisemitism with criticism of Israel is all that state has. This can’t go on.
