If memory serves me correct, she did go by „Christie“ pretty often.

Then again, to him it’s probably not much difference from Christie Todd Whitman to former Governor of New Jersey in the late 90’s to early 2000’s, to current day Gretchen Whitmer Governor of Michigan and his current DHS and former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.

I have not known anyone who has declined so I don’t know how common it is to confuse names like this, though for a President it’s pretty fucked up, especially since we also saw this man swaying for 40 minutes to his ipad playlist in what was intended to be a Town Hall Q&A session on the campaign trail.
