    1. Wasn’t he saying in interviews released last week that he quit method acting?

How has it been three fucking years and this guy still sounds like he’s attempting to emulate Elvis

Insufferable. It’s the sort of actor whose phone stops ringing the moment he stops being a box office draw

Here before „he’s so pretentious comments“🙄. He’s just passionate about his work and everyone has some type of prep before getting into character. There are actors who have done worse. Health ledger infamous for his prep as the joker but. Christan Bale, DDL etc.
Most importantly he’s not hurting anyone! I can’t imagine why people would be mad at someone just enjoying their job. Oh wait….. Probably because they don’t enjoy their jobs.

    5. I don’t care what he does as long as he gives a good performance and doesn’t make the rest of the people working with him hate his fucking guts. Those are the lines. Wanna be method? Go ahead. Be as full or moderate in your approach as you want… Just don’t be an asshole about it.

Some people’s method only goes as far as things like diet, clothing, etc etc, or it can be as far as trying to go all Daniel day Lewis on it and build a cabin in the woods with your bare hands and hunt animals for sustenance lol.

I used to act. There’s all types, and the people who give way too much of a shit aren’t as bad as the people who don’t give a shit at all. Just my opinion, and from a scale of acting far… Far away from this level. I knew some people who went hard method for a few roles in college as being the best examples i saw (not as far as performance but as far as trying to be method) but not much after that. It really is a lot of work lol, and honestly sometimes doesn’t equate to doing a better job. But your process is your process, I guess. If I was at that level, I’d probably try a little method every now and then to make things interesting, though hopefully not annoying lol

    6. I… assume the apartment was a stage build? Which, to someone who works in the film industry, makes this whole story seem kind of phoney and silly. Or more likely just outright fake. There are people at the stages practically 24/7. And there’s a house electric who controls the power.

And he’s the star of the film, I imagine people know where he is.

I thought he said he was done with method acting and thanks some actors for it?

Am i wrong? This guy needs to chill out.

A bit misleading: he did this once. Just seemed like he stayed late one day to get a feel for it and he stayed a while before crew came in. Not a big deal, people are still just annoyed about him talking like Elvis I guess

    9. Great. Now he’s going to say that he forgets where he lives for the next 3 years.

File this under „things that he probably thinks make him sound committed to the character but actually, as someone who works in film/tv, makes him sound like a tremendous pain in the crew’s collective ass“

I just saw an article last week on how people like tom hardy were able to convince him he doesn’t need to go so method.

    12. Sometimes he sings and dances around the house in his underwear. Doesn’t make him Brando. Never will.

It’s called a set, not an apartment. I’ll bet the set dressers were pissed

Is this the same dude who was going on about how he was so in character he couldn’t stop talking like Elvis

    15. GoodtimeZappa on

Does anyone ever method act someone who is a good person? Just like the role of a really good Dad who always knows the right thing to say, but also allows his kids to make mistakes so they can let from them.

Imagine having to method act when you play the same guy with 1.5 emotions in every movie.
