      It is funny that people try to brush Covid under the rug. The vast majority of Americans under 30 saw first-hand that their government sees them as completely disposable and meaningless, to be thrown to the meat grinder in a global pandemic since corporate shareholder value is more important than any number of their lives

      Yeah, that happens when one of your political parties wholeheartedly embraces the formation of a fascist dictatorship and makes a mockery of the rule of law by turning it into a completely partisan weapon.

      What do you expect? Whatever career they choose, they have to learn how to grow food or they’ll end up starving to death. Because of the power the fossil fuel industry has over global leaders.

      As a 26 year old with ADHD in the US, yep. It is actually so hard to look forward to anything at this point for younger adults because we don’t even have an opportunity for a good future. If my parents weren’t retired and letting me live with them, I’d be fucked beyond comparison in this job market with my ADHD and panic disorder, even with my Bachelor’s degree.

      Been thinking lately, It seems the only thing our leaders care about is pulling all the money to the top. The well-being of humans is not the goal. Rich people have all the money and will keep all the money and everyone else will work hard and barely survive, if that. The leaders also don’t seem to care about polution, extinction, or education

      I think most people are going to blame economic conditions or the rise of Trump. But despite being as libral as they come I think its loneliness not politics or economics.

      That would all change if we give these young people hope for financial independence and placed the country’s welfare ahead of that of the wealthy.

      Jee, I can’t imagine why!? 

      I cannot comprehend why the ultra wealthy don’t understand that there will be REDUCED profits for their companies by destroying the middle class and workforce! 

      Property values will crater if no one can afford them! Businesses will close, quarterly profits will be a blood bath, stock prices will evaporate… Eventually the U.S. dollar will be devalued, what is their endgame?

      That’s odd. I heard that the rest of the world is raving how „hot“ the US is right now. Maybe they meant the temperature.

      Yea just turned 40 and can definitely say this sentiment is true for us as well, we got many once in a lifetime recessions, bailouts and overall shafting

      I would love to see how much social media plays in that as Gen Z is the most social media addicted. No shade, I am a Millennial, but I am noticing social media has a big part in unhappiness.

      Buddy, I’m 31 and I’ve been feeling like curling up into a ball on my couch to slip between the cushions like loose change, lost and forgotten.

      Could it be the combination of requiring a white collar job in order to have health insurance, plus white collar jobs being more and more unattainable?

      Nah, must be trans women in sports… or maybe _immigrants_ picking crops.

      There needs to be a mass revelation amongst people supporting the status quo as to its true effects and not the sanitized version of pseudoreality it gives off. Too many people just straight up *delude* themselves as to the state of the world environmentally, financially, and beyond. Some out of fear, others because it benefits them to play dumb, but at the end of the day people need to finally acknowledge that the choices we are making are directly linked to all the problems in society and reframe their worldview to make appropriate, pro social and pro human choices.

      A country with terrible healthcare or no healthcare unless you’re rich. People working full time jobs unable to afford housing. Education to gain mobility, unaffordable. No end insight but only decades of things getting worse based on current policies. What are they supposed to feel happy or hopeful about?
