Wow, the picture looks like a piece of wood or some kind of mineral. I could only understand the flows involved by watching the short video.
This, at 11am PDT, appears to be a news release made by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) that was subsequently withdrawn. Phys.org has automatically or quickly copied the news release to their site.
Phys.org is a content aggregator. They copy free (like this) or licensed content and surround it with their own ads/tracking/etc.
You might be saying, ok, great, we get the early version of the news release! But also it means you’re not seeing AURA’s article the way they want to present it.
