The trial, by researchers from King’s College London, King’s College Hospital, and King’s Fertility, is the first of its kind to focus exclusively on women aged 35-42, a group at higher risk of producing embryos with chromosomal abnormalities.

This add-on test – known as preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) – involves checking embryos for chromosomal abnormalities before they are transferred.

My wife and I did this testing on all our embryos. She was 38 and 39 through all 3 of our treatments and we had had 2 miscarriages trying on our own.
Over our treatments we got 24 eggs. 10 of those fertilized, 5 lasted the 5(?) day waiting period before testing was done and we ended up with 1 viable embryo. They like to have 2 or 3 to increase the odds of successful implantation.
