Am I missing something or is this article really not more than 30 words? Why bother sharing this?

Hey, it’s Monday. What new horror have the foreigners perpetrated on Japan that we can rage-bait about today? Oh, LUGGAGE. Yep. That’s absolutely worth talking about.

We do get guests asking to leave broken luggage from time to time, and we handle it for them. The cost is no big deal, sodai gomi is like 200 yen. But the 6 week wait for next available pickup slot sucks. Shibuya needs to get better at sodai gomi.

That’s funny, for the first time yesterday I saw a random discarded suitcase outside of Okayama Station. Does seem to be an assholish thing to do.

Hotels having a wide disposal service would be great. I don’t live in a touristic part of Tokyo with no hotels around. Now… the 区 is destroying houses to widen the road. Suitcases, mamacharis, carpets, chairs, umbrellas and even a fridge popped out of the ground. Doesn’t excuse tourists doing it but when in Rome, do as the Romans.

I will never stop being amazed at the myriad of petty, trivial things the Japanese media will dream up as an excuse for complaining about tourists.

I noticed the article says Osaka.
I live in Tokyo, but visited Osaka / Kyoto recently.
While Tokyo has more tourists number wise, the ratio of tourists to locals seemed way higher in Osaka & Kyoto. It didn’t seem like the cities were set up infrastructure wise for the ratio of tourists there.

…why does one abandon a suitcase? our people coming to Japan with a weeks worth of clothes they never want to see again? Does Japan have superior suitcase technology that causes foreigners to convert before returning home?

I can’t wait for the article about all the Japanese people dumping their large garbage by the boat harbors and lesser inhabited wooded areas by nearby beaches.
