News snippet: One of Graham Platner’s high school yearbooks shows him babyfaced with a buzzcut, holding a sign proclaiming, in part: “Free Palestine.” The image is accompanied by a superlative his classmates bestowed upon him: “Most Likely To Start A Revolution.”
“Well see!” Platner wrote on X Thursday, posting a photo of the yearbook page, in a post that’s been viewed 4.5m times. Now bearded, burly and tattooed, with a sweep of dirty blond hair above a sunburnt face, Platner still believes in a free Palestine. He also thinks it’ll take something revolutionary to save the US, so earlier this week, when the oysterman announced his candidacy to be the next US senator from Maine, he pulled no punches.

We need more working class independent candidates in statewide races. Democrats are mostly consultant elites and Republicans are Trump Magas. Dan Osborn came close in November for the Nebraska Senate race with 47% vote. He’s running again. I don’t see Establishment Democrats can flip these red states at this point. Only independent candidates have any chance in states

He is having a volunteer meeting tomorrow night, go to the website and volunteer. Remote is ok, meetings, calls….. if 125 million Americans voted for every democrat on 11/3/26 and the dems had an overwhelming victory, Graham most likely may be the only dem that wants to solve the problem and hopefully inspire others! (they have demoted AOC and Bernie to fund raisers not legislatures!)

There is something REALLY off about this guy and his story. I hate to hate on anyone who could unseat that absolute pile of garbage Susan Collins, but this guy feels like a total plant to me.

Honestly curious what the folks cheering this guy think Democrats should be doing that they aren’t or haven’t done after 10 years of MAGA the failure of the resistance movement to mobilize voters to the polls to win in 2024?

This is the type of candidates that Dems need to be running. I’m sick of the mealy mouthed wonky policy shit, that has no place on a campaign trail in a post-2016 world, we need moral clarity, a laser focus on what’s hurting the average American, and most importantly a willingness to exercise power to ensure that their policies are implemented to deliver for their voters

And kicks that Trump enabling Susan Collins to the curb!
>Democrats thought they had a real shot to unseat Collins in 2020. Sara Gideon raised $40m more than Collins, and polls showed Gideon in the lead, but she still lost by nine points in a state her fellow Democrat, [Joe Biden](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/joebiden), won handily.
How the fuck do you lose to Susan Collins?!

The old guard of the Democratic Party is full of enrichers, people who got into their position to milk it financially and for prestige. They lack the passion for anything else than furthering their career and enlarging their bank account. And even more important, their intentions makes them spineless disappointments. They are the wrong people for the job and even more so in these times.
The Democratic Party’s old guard needs to be kicked out and replaced with people that actually care about their job, the people that they represent, and the country.

It’s apparent that the average person in the United States has NO representation. Not from the Democrats. Not from the Republicans. They’re both a bunch of rich bureaucrats fooling us all to fill their pockets and serve their special interests.
To institute fairness – Make lobbying highly illegal. Put Congress people in jail who allow it/participate in it. Term limits are a must. Perhaps, if the road isn’t so golden we will have better candidates who will make people their priority.
When was the last time you heard a politician talking about controlling the cost of healthcare? Providing access to healthcare. Improving infrastructure, and mass transit. Things like that, that matter to people.
