    • Ghanaer in Sanjo
    • Mosambikaner in Imabari

    1. A big problem for Japan is that what few immigrants come all cluster in Tokyo, while the countryside hollows out more and more.

      They are making efforts to try to revitalize smaller cities facing the most population decline, and the biggest labor shortages. These cities appear to be located in badly depopulating regions such as Niigata, Yamagata, and Shikoku. Probably not a coincidence.

      Why African countries though? Why not neighbouring countries such as China, Taiwan and South Korea who have more skilled workers and more or less the same work culture?
