What could we do for DC’s homeless on a budget of $1 million a day?

    2. We have money to waste on this but not for healthcare research or just healthcare?

Vote these Republicans out of office.

    3. why is it cheaper per day for the military to occupy a city than for him to go golf?

Yet no school lunch assistance, cuts to WIC, little to no internet for students/families in poor communities, no healthcare for millions, and some of the lowest health outcomes of any industrialized nation. Oh, and wages that are so low one cannot live…

      USA, USA, USA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, obviously DC wasn’t a crime ridden hell scape like the right wants you to believe. But even if it were, the amount of money getting dumped into DC just isn’t sustainable. So we’re basically wasting money for a temporary solution.

    6. I found more of that waste, fraud, and abuse. Still waiting on the full details of those Epstein files.

    7. But on the bright side they catch a few turnstile jumpers a day, so that saved the district several dollars. /s

For those who don’t know, the DC metro does not see a lot of turnstile jumpers because of the way it is designed.

One – A fare card that operates like a debit card is required to use the system. You charge it up with cash, swipe it to get into the system which logs your entry point, and swipe it when you leave the system so it logs your exit point. The fares charged to the card vary depending on entrance point, exit point, and time of day. So turnstile jumping is difficult – you have to successfully jump both sets of turnstiles.

Two – The metro and tunnels are brand new. Unlike say, the NYC or Boston subways, the DC metro stations are spacious. relatively well lit, and have few obstacles to sight lines. This allows cameras to see everywhere and everyone. If you jump a turnstile you’ll be seen and tracked as you move through the system.

Three – There is a security station at every entrance and exit with at least two metro police in it. They watch the cameras constantly. If you jump a turnstile and manage to get on a train out of that station they’ll alert the security folks on all subsequent stops. The only way to get out is to go past one of those guard shacks.

Four – DC is full of fine, upstanding civil servants, aka „The Deep State.“ There isn’t a lot of sympathy for rule breakers. In fact, there is downright contempt for folks that break the rules. No one is going to cover for your punk/rebel ass.

So what are the troops doing? Riding up and down overcrowded metro escalators „patrolling“ for turnstile jumpers. Y’know, to pack the crowds tighter and make DC safer for pickpockets.

I don’t ever, ever want to hear another republican ever tell me again that we can’t afford national Healthcare, social security, housing projects, or fund free college for ever person again with how much money this administration is blowing on being dictators.

    9. Now we can see how he had so many bankruptcies in his private business dealings. He’s doing the same to our Country.

    10. Could fix all the lead pipes in the Eastern US but that is too woke.  Real MAGA loves brain damage.

People are struggling to pay for food and shelter, people have been cut off from social programs…but they can blow a million dollars a day for this shit.

It’s a military coup. A bloodless coup. The president has unconstitutionally brought an army to DC to protect himself and exert authority over any challenges from the legislative branch

So republican don’t care about spending unless its being used on people they deem unworthy. But they look at these military operations as an investment of long term power and they don’t bat an eye on the cost.

    14. Glad our tax dollars are going into terrorizing the populace instead of health and education.

So DOGE was just all bullshit from the get go. So many people lost their jobs and we are all fucked because of it.

There’s always tons of money for suppression of the people but never enough for helping people.

Lots of elected officals do the smart thing and make a sleeping area and closet in their office. Especially new officials.

Serious question, when is it time to fight? They’re gonna put troops in Chicago, then New York. They’ve already done it in in LA and DC. THIS IS AN OCCUPYING FORCE.
