    1. Is it just me or is this the worst Presidential election ever?

Maybe it’s because we know that whoever we get, they will be sub-par so it’s only drawing out the agony.

    2. I’m very disappointed with what labour did in government with Fine Gael. So that makes two of us.

    3. While Finlay is definitely coming at this from a particular angle, and I don’t feel he’d have been a great candidate himself, he makes some fair points here.

Backing Connolly is very unlikely to pay off. She has aligned herself far too much with the likes of Daly and Wallace in recent times, and her takes on Ukraine, for example, would put her at odds with too many Irish people.

Did they completely lack a viable party candidate?

He’s only mad that Ivana ghosted him when he looked for a nomination.

Good to see labour turning their backs on the fine gael sect within it. If the party is to ever be taken seriously again they need to go.

    5. The choices are crap, she seems like the only decent one out of the lot so I’ll be giving her my vote.

If the irish left can’t do better than Tankie McGee they will continue to struggle for relevance and election results.

I used to work In Barnardos when fergal finley was ceo. For two years in a row they made all the staff take a week of unpaid leave. This was during the recession but it was expected that we should all just lap it up and take it as none of us had bills to pay. They also were very unsupportive to their staff when we had to go and sign on. Labour Party my ass
