Everything I learn about Austin Butler is against my will.
I listened to his interview with Marc Maron and I kinda get it. He said he’s always been chronically shy, and has taken advice from so many people throughout his career on how to commit to roles and help overcome that. Then with Elvis, because of COVID, he had way more prep time than most actors get for a movie and because there was nothing else he could do during the lockdown, he just went method.
Austin Butler is another one of those unlikable pretentious douches, along with Miles Teller and Glen Powell, that Hollywood still insists on pushing onto us.
